Puhinui Reserve

Puhinui Reserve with its 199 rolling green acres, overlooks Manukau Harbour and lies beside Auckland Airport, about 20 minutes outside of Auckland City.  Because of the reserve's historical and conservation value, it was purchased by Manukau City Council in October 1991.  The reserve is also part of Matukurua volcanic field

As this reserve is still under development, the newly made path ends where
volunteers planted young native trees

Beautiful green hills as far as the eye can see, dotted with equestrian obstacles

McLaughlins Mountain, a cone shaped volcano, has been quarried away,
using the scoria for roading and landscaping.  Pilots in command of turbo-jet
or turbo-fan powered aeroplanes, use this volcano with its water tower
and aeronautical ground light as a beacon on departure
